Hello, and thank you for visiting! Here is a bit about me.
From age twelve, I had a passion for puzzling out how people experienced traumatic loss. I wondered:
How did they bear the unbearable?
How did they fill the chasm that opened up inside?
How did they live with such a profound shift in reality?
How did they make sense of their lives?
How did it affect their beliefs in who they were or could become?
How was their perception of the world altered?
How did they absorb the loss of safety and security?
Did they believe in God? Why? or Why not?
I toured my neighborhood talking to people who were mowing their lawns, watering gardens, and bringing in their groceries. I talked to parents of my friends, workman who where building houses and laying bricks. Anyone and everyone who could tolerate my inquiries. At that time I curiously read Western philosophers and theologians--concepts I could barely understand at that age--all books I found on my brother-in-law's bookshelf. At fourteen, I began reading Eastern philosophers and theologians, discussing my questions with teachers, administrators, business owners--anyone who would talk with me about these concepts. I gathered more and more questions and very few answers. I added the study of art, music, theology, and psychology--and finally began to untangle the ever-fascinating world of the human psyche. Here I found many answers and many more questions.
I have dedicated my life work to helping others, caught in the aftermath of trauma and loss--to help them answer these very questions, find meaning, and healing.
